Our History
Located less than a mile from campus, the Mark Bostick Golf Course at The University of Florida and the Guy Bostick Clubhouse, home of the Men's and Women's Golf Teams, is situated on 110 acres of heavily tree-lined, softly rolling terrain.

The 18-hole, par 70 course plays to a length of 6,700 yards from the Gator tees, but with four sets of tees, is playable from all levels of players.
For over 80 years, Mark Bostick Golf Course has anchored the northwest corner of the University of Florida’s Gainesville campus. Although the course was originally designed by renowned architect Donald Ross during the 1920s, it has evolved over the years to take on its own distinct personality.

Contained within a 116-acre plot of land, the 6,701-yard, par-70 course is short by today’s golf standards. However, a $4 million renovation project in 2001 by Jacksonville-based architect Bobby Weed transformed the contour of the landscape, creating a course that is both physically and mentally challenging.

Beginning in 1962, the Mark Bostick Golf Course (formerly the Gainesville Golf and Country Club) has shared a special relationship with the UF golf teams. The course has been home to the Gators’ day-to-day operations through six NCAA championships (four men’s and two women’s) and 21 Southeastern Conference (13 men’s, eight women’s) titles since 1962. Several prominent golfers have called Mark Bostick Golf Course their home, including Chris DiMarco, Mark Calcavecchia, Sandra Gal, Lori Garbacz, Dudley Hart, Bob Murphy, Andy North, Deb Richard, Laurie Rinker-Graham, Camilo Villegas, Donna (Horton) White), Billy Horschel and Matt Every.

Each year, MBGC plays host to several championship tournaments. Included among these are the Gator Invitational, the Gator Women’s Golf Invitational and the Gator Golf Day, where alumni and current PGA Tour players return each year to support the winning tradition of Florida golf.

Club House
With recent renovations on both the clubhouse and the golf course, the University of Florida continues to boast one of the finest overall facilities in collegiate golf. In the summer of 2008, the University Athletic Association spent $1.8 million for renovations on the interior and exterior of the clubhouse. In 2001, the course underwent a $4 million renovation.

The Gators have called the University of Florida Golf Club (formerly the Gainesville Golf and Country Club) home since 1962. A $1.1 million clubhouse was completed in the summer of 1988 on the site of the original clubhouse thanks to a donation from former UF student and Gator Booster Guy Bostick.

In 2008, the University Athletic Association spent $1.8 million to renovate the clubhouse facilities. The updated clubhouse features renovated locker rooms for both UF teams with wooden lockers and a new team lounge area. New offices were added for the UF golf coaches and the pro shop, snack bar and public locker rooms were renovated and expanded. The new entryway features trophy cases that display UF golf championship trophies and highlight the program's success.
